THE RIVER IS UP!

The recent rains north of the Grampians have made their way into the Glenelg River and now is the time to go kayaking!

We had a bit of a paddle just above Dartmoor last weekend  (December 4th) and the flow was good and the levels were excellent. Paddling with the current was a dream and going upstream wasn't too strenuous either.

When the river is flowing like this the platypus are less secretive and you are more than likely to catch sight of a few. Back in July when the water was up we saw 16 platypus in the space of 6 hours over 20km of river.

Even if you don't see these elusive little monotremes, the weather is terrific this time of year and you will have a great outing having a picnic on a timely sandbar.

Get out there and give it a go!
